DEO GRATIAS! Bishop Deo's Episcopal Silver Jubilee Mass.

The Most Reverent Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez, Jr. celebrated his Episcopal Silver Jubilee on August 21, 2010 at the San Bartolome Parish Church at Malabon City. Present to that memorable occasions were Bishops and Archbishops from the other Dioceses and Archdioceses most notably was Most. Rev. Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, Papal Nuncio to the Philippines. It was also attended by prominent people in the society such as Mayor Tito and Vice Mayor Lenlen Oreta of Malabon City, Hon. Teofisto Guingona Jr., Bro. Eddie Villanueva of Jesus is Lord Movement and many more. Nanay Emilia Iñiguez (age 95), the beloved mother of Bishop Deo is also present at that historical event.

Though her being hesitant, God gave me the blessing of borrowing my sister's DSLR cam for the occasion (Thanks, dete!). Through that camera, I caught shots of the event first hand, together with the cameramen positioned in the front of the church. I never got away from the pulpit of the church for fear of mis-reverence to the sacred occasion. Thank God, I still had good shots of the celebration (though I was reprimanded by my fellow cameraman that I should never take slant shots of solemn occasions. Lesson learned.).

In his homily, Most. Rev. Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, shared what it is to have a bishop.  He said that cannot imagine the Church without a Bishop. "Having a Bishop is a blessing!", he said.

Bishop Deo thanked all the people who attended and also asked forgiveness for anything and everything wrong that he may have done. A sign that He is a humble Bishop.

(After the Papal Nuncio's homily, he proceeded to Bishop Deo to give him a brotherly embrace.)

Truly the Diocese of Kalookan is very blessed to have a great and passionate leader.

Congratulations and thank you for serving us, our beloved Bishop Deo!

DEO GRATIAS!
