Diocese to launch financial help for OFW families
MANILA, Philippines — Families of overseas Filipino workers stand to benefit from a financial service program of the Diocese of Caloocan, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines said.
An article on the CBCP website (www.cbcpnews.com) said the Pamilyang OFW Savers and Wellness Club (POSWC) will be launched on July 18 at the St. Mary’s Academy in Caloocan City.
Organized by the Caloocan Diocesan Desk for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and their Families (KADMI), POSWC aims to help families of OFWs, particularly children, and instill in them the importance of saving money.
The CBCP Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (CBCP-ECMI) and Pioneer Life helped organize the program.
A mass presided by Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez Jr. will kick off the launching ceremonies.
ECMI Luzon Coordinator Edmund Ruga will introduce the program to the attendees while KADMI director Fr. Ruben Maybuena will give his welcoming speech.
ECMI executive secretary Fr. Edwin Corros and Pioneer Life Senior Vice President Ferdinand Berba will also give their messages. - GMANews.TV
